Here we are plunging into 2008! Wow, 2007 simply flew by. It
was a bittersweet year. We lost a very dear friend, Jonathan Christian. My
February book, NAMELESS, is dedicated to this wonderful young man. My
first big suspense, TRACELESS, was published by St. Martin’s Press. My
baby girl started college. And we sold our big old house and are
currently looking for something smaller and older (I love old houses
with lots of character!). Big changes! My husband and I,
along with our three loveable mutts, are living in Maine for a few months
while I write my next big book. I would like to thank all of you
for making TRACELESS a huge success. Publisher’s Weekly gave
TRACELESS a great review and Cosmopolitan Magazine chose it as the Red
Hot Read of the Month. I hope you will enjoy NAMELESS as much. My
friends and I had a great time exploring the setting for that story. It
was amazing! Coming in July is FACELESS, a most twisted tale!
I want to thank each and every one who has written or emailed
me. Your notes are high praise! And thanks for your continued
support and loyalty. You are the best! I’ve added my
post office box for those who prefer writing the old fashioned way.
My Colby Agency fans need not worry. The Colby Agency continues! GUARDIAN
ANGEL is out in February of this year and then IDENTITY UNKNOWN hits
the shelves in July. In 2009 look for a very special Colby Agency
trilogy as well as a Colby Agency story featuring Merrilee Walters from
SILENT WEAPON and SILENT RECKONING! Fans of my Silhouette Bombshell
stories were very disappointed when the line closed and I didn’t
get to write Merri’s final story. So I’ve spoken to
my Harlequin Intrigue editor and I’m going to write Merri’s
story within the Colby Agency lineup. For those who don’t
know, Merri is deaf. She’s amazing. So watch for her
story in 2009 from Harlequin Intrigue.
I mentioned that I’m currently in Maine working on another big
book. I recently signed up for three more big romantic thrillers
with St. Martin’s Press. The first is set on the coast of
Maine and I’m loving the location. For an Alabama girl it
was quite a shock to arrive to the three feet of snow surrounding the
one hundred year old farmhouse where we’re staying. The house
is nestled amid more than fifty acres and the property backs up to a
huge state park. Trees and snow for as far as the eye can see! Nearby
is the ocean, part of which I can see from my kitchen window. My
husband keeps a roaring fire in the fireplace as well as the woodstove. I’ve
learned to love snow boots and gloves.
Have a safe, happy and prosperous 2008!
Until then!
